If you have a series R-L timing circuit and you want the time constant to be longer, what do you need to do?

Lower the inductance

Lower the resistance

Increase the resistance

This is crazy, use an R-C circuit instead

Answer: Time constant = L/R; lowering the resistance increases the time constant.
